Iron Dominion
Iron Dominion asks you to manage a small kingdom across a handful of provinces, and it's less about steamrolling enemies than keeping your own house from falling apart. You juggle food, loyalty, and defense, and every decision has a cost somewhere down the line. It scratched the same itch as a good board game.
What I liked is that turns are quick but the consequences are long. You can dip in for a couple of decisions on a break and still feel like you're playing something with weight. The tutorial is a bit stiff, but once it clicks the interface is well laid out for a phone screen.
It won't be for everyone. If you want fast action you'll bounce off it. But if you like reading the board and planning three moves ahead, Iron Dominion is a quiet gem.
What we liked
- Meaningful decisions with lasting consequences
- Well-designed touch interface for a complex game
- Great in short bursts or long sessions
